In 1992, 300 kids signed up to play baseball during the inaugural season of the Rosedale-Grandmont Little League. Since then, an average of 500 kids per season play in the league, which is run entirely by volunteers. Teams in the league play in Stoepel Park, which has seen hundreds of thousands of dollars of investment in its ball fields since the league formed 22 years ago.
This video, produced by Three Lyons Creative, features players, parents, and coaches talking about why the Rosedale-Grandmont Little League is a neighborhood institution like no other.
This video is a part of Model D's "City Kids" series. For more great reading on the people and programs impacting Michigan kids, visit Michigan Nightlight.
