It's time to shake it with Model D during our final summertime stint in Campus Martius Park's
4th Fridays with Ford — a chance for music, food and to explore the city.
During
Model D's 5-7 p.m. Happy Hour,
Latin DJs will spin, and dance instructors will offer Latin some free
Latin dance lessons. Once the crowd's done shaking it, the instructors
will take the floor for a demonstration.
Then, from 7:30-9:30 p.m.,
Cyro Baptista & Beat the Donkey will bring worldbeat sounds to the stage with their percussionists, dancers and DJ.
There's a ton more going on during the lunchtime hours, too.
From 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Model D and City Living Detroit are hosting a
City Living Fair -- featuring neighborhoods and places to live.
At the same time, area hotels, museums, restaurants and more will offer discounts during the
Doors Open Detroit attractions fair.
And from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Detroit artist Tyree Guyton will host a
Connect the Dots community "paint-in" in support of the 20th Anniversary Celebration of his Heidelberg Project.
Also
visit the park to hear about 4th Fridays discounts at surrounding bars
and restaurants, win prizes, take walking tours and or join a pub crawl
from
Inside Detroit, a film fest from
Prince Igor Productions. There is also an arts marketplace, food and drink available.
