July 21, 9 p.m.
Dorkwave, the party that reignited the throwback dance party midway through the first decade of the new century is coming for your children once again. Having been too long at rest, it is greatly welcomed. Out of their love for Detroit, Mudgies and the Dorkwave crew are holding a V.I.P reception fundraiser for the Detroit Sound Conservancy, the group that helped organize Model D’s recent Zoot’s reunion event.
The event will be held on the patio of the Corktown Tavern before the actual Dorkwave party. There is limited availability so respond NOW to reserve a space. There will be food, fun, music, dancing and community. And lots of Detroit love. The cost for the reception alone is $20. This price includes entry into the Dorkwave party (which starts at 10 p.m. Regular admission is $5).
