Woodhouse Day Spa, part of national chain, opens in Merchant's Row

Woodhouse Day Spa has opened its doors in Merchant's Row on Woodward Avenue downtown.

The spa is part of a national chain based in Texas, and it's their first location in Michigan.

Local franchisee Forest Hudson looked all over the city before settling on the location, citing its proximity to Compuware and Detroit Breakfast House and Grill as assets.

Hudson has worked closely with landlord Shostack Company and Marsh Construction to execute the vision he had in mind after traveling to spas all over the country.  Woodhouse is, he describes, "a state-of-the-art full-service spa," offering over 70 treatments, ranging from nail care to waxing to full-body massage to wraps and facials.

Pricing and service menu can be reviewed and appointments can be made at http://www.detroit.woodhousespas.com/.

This is the second spa to open in Downtown Detroit in the past year. The other, Innergy in Bricktown, opened in February 2006.
