Residents are now moving in at the
Grinnell Place Lofts in Corktown. Developer Mark Wilcox says that five of the 34 units have closed and expects up to 10 to have closed by the end of the year.
The lofts are built in a 1921 building, a former piano warehouse on Michigan Avenue. There are a variety of floor plans available, and prices start at $165,000.
Grinnell Place continues to hold an open house from 1-4 p.m. each Saturday. But the feeling is different now that people actually live in the building, Wilcox says: “Seeing lights on, having visitors … an occupied building is so much different than a vacant building. [We’re in] kind of a fun phase, the building is looking good.”
