Half
of the 34 units planned for Corktown’s Grinnell Place Lofts are now
sold. Two models are open for tours and construction on select units is
expected to be finished by mid-September.
The development
features 20 unique floor plans for prospective condominium buyers. Units include one-bedroom, 800 square feet spaces and three-bedroom, 2,000
square feet, bi-level units. Austin Black of Detroit Urban Living,
which is handling sales of the lofts, says there are spaces to fit
everyone’s needs and budgets. Loft prices start at $165,000.
Every
unit in the building will have a balcony and one indoor parking space.
For owners of units on the fourth floor, access to an optional
rooftop-deck is available.
“Corktown is ideally situated
near downtown and the freeways, and is really a neighborhood within
itself,” says Chris Hajek, development partner with Mark Wilcox for the
Grinnell Lofts. “The building, built in 1921, lends to the historic
fabric of the neighborhood … It’s a great opportunity to get a home in
Corktown.”
Grinnell Place Lofts are located at 2003 Brooklyn,
just north of Michigan Ave. and west of the Lodge Freeway. Inquiries
can be made through Detroit Urban Living, 313-831-8000 or at
