Gaelic League in Corktown finishes some sprucing up

As one phase of its ongoing renovations, the Gaelic League has completed improvements to its event hall entrance. Disenos Ornamental Iron installed sutom-designed wrought iron gating complete with shamrocks, and new pavers were installed on the porch.

Gaelic League president Frank Quinlivan points out that, while the event hall was added on in the 1950's, the main part of the building is over 100 years old, requiring constant upkeep. Over the last several years, the  exterior of the building was tuckpointed and painted and new windows were installed.

While none of these improvements are singularly noteworthy, they add up to the continued commitment of one of Detroit's oldest ethnic organizations to the city and their Corktown neighborhood.
