An adult-living environment that once housed the historic Whittier Hotel, featuring 120 apartments, ranging from 700- to 1,238-square-feet. The next phase of the plan is to revitalize and re-open the 15-story Whittier Tower in 2010 as market-rate rentals, followed by a condo conversion in five years. Future development includes transforming the 50-acres of land surrounding The Whittier into public park space with a marina, retail, and other amenities.
