The historic Avenue of Fashion located on Livernois Avenue between McNichols and 8 Mile Rd. is undergoing $1.7 million in beautification and streetscape upgrades. A $200,000 grant from ArtPlace is installing art in vacant storefronts and medians, while an additional $1.5 million in grants is going towards landscaping and pedestrian-safety improvements. The Detroit Economic Growth Corporation is working with its partners to secure additional funding for a second phase to include new sidewalks, lighting, and bike lanes.
