Calling all creative types: First annual Creative Congress to offer networking opportunity
A group that promotes animation and digital media in Michigan is sponsoring its first annual Creative Congress of Michigan on Feb. 21 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The Creative Congress is designed to be an extensive networking opportunity for area creatives with any industry, talent and interest. The group, the Southeast Michigan Animation and Special Effects Network, is a community of professionals, teachers, students and hobbyists interested in digital arts.
Organizers hope the event will generate new opportunities for collaboration between creative industries, highlight Michigan’s established community for the arts, and promote the resources the digital arts industries have to offer to both the local and national audience.
Scott Dunham, founder of the SEMAFX Network says he expects a diverse selection of attendees and participants.
Attendance to the Creative Congress is free, and exhibitors are asked to make a $15 donation. Exhibitors will be able to show off demo reels, portfolios and any other forms of presentation. Each exhibitor will be introduced and given time for a brief description of their organization and services provided, followed by Q&A and open discussion.
