The Advocate, a national GLBT magazine, featured midtown’s Avalon International Breads in a full-page spread recently.

For nearly a decade Avalon owners and life partners Ann Perrault and Jackie Victor have supplied Midtown with baked goods. However, in the beginning, it was not so easy. In the article they say they didn’t know anything about baking bread – running a business, yes, but not baking bread. After 11 years they’ve gotten the hang of it. So much so that they brought in $1.4 million in sales and are relocating into a space down the street that is three times the size of their current location.

Unfortunately the article isn’t available online, but it can be found in this month’s issue of the Advocate.
