The article quotes Detroit Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick as saying, “we should all be celebrating.  Six months ago, everybody was nervous. Everybody was wondering if we could do this. … We have all put together and done an amazing thing. And for the first time since I’ve been alive, the world is seeing Detroit differently today, and I think that’s a reason to celebrate.”
