Bluewater Technologies pairs retro gaming and latest AV innovations for 2025 Tech Expo
Bluewater’s free 2025 Tech Expo at CCS in Detroit features AV innovation with exhibits, panels, and immersive experiences, Oct. 1–2.

Bluewater Technologies is bringing an immersive showcase of audio-visual innovation to Detroit this fall. The women-owned experiential agency will host its annual Tech Expo, Oct. 1–2, at the College for Creative Studies’ A. Alfred Taubman Center, offering industry professionals two days of interactive exhibits, expert-led panels, and networking opportunities.
This year’s expo theme draws inspiration from Bluewater’s founding in 1985, with a retro video game twist woven into the event’s design. “1985 was the year Bluewater was founded and also a golden era for imagination in tech,” says Scott Schoeneberger, managing partner at Bluewater Technologies. “Video games weren’t just entertainment back then, they were the first taste of what it felt like to interact with technology instead of just watch it. That spirit is exactly what drives the immersive AV-fueled innovation today.”

The expo floor will feature top brands, including Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Epson, and Sharp, alongside experiential activations and demos designed to spark new ideas. For attendees less familiar with the industry, Schoeneberger says the impact goes beyond technical specs. “Even if you don’t know the tech, you will feel the difference when sound, light, and interactivity all come together. It is less about the specs and more about the sense of possibility,” he explains.
Bluewater chose Detroit and the College for Creative Studies as the backdrop for the expo, citing the city’s long-standing culture of reinvention. “Detroit has always been about creativity, grit, and reinvention,” Schoeneberger says. “Hosting at CCS lets us ground the event in that spirit while also connecting with the next generation of designers and innovators.”
The schedule includes educational sessions and panels throughout both days, a strolling cocktail reception on Oct. 1, and complimentary admission for attendees to experience Bluewater’s Glenlore Trails immersive light show in Commerce Township on Oct. 2.
Ultimately, Schoeneberger hopes participants leave with both practical takeaways and renewed inspiration. “I want people to walk away with two things: Professionally, a clear idea they can put to work the next day. Personally, a spark of inspiration that sticks with them long after. If we do that, the event’s a success,” he says.
