Feb. 23, Various
This Saturday Feb. 23, Chicago is invading Detroit armed with art. This is a rare opportunity to see what’s going on in the largest metro area in the Great Lakes region. And yes, it’s at the roots level. And even better, you can check it out without traveling far from your cozy neighborhood.
This show was conceived and organized and built by both the Chicago Artists’ Coalition (CAC) and our own neighborhood art-skatepark innovators, Power House Productions.
This past January, a handful of Detroit artists showed in a Chicago gallery set up by the CAC. And now, Chicago art is coming to us to return the favor at two local galleries.
Public Pool will feature the work of Stacia Yeapanis, Jenny Kendler and Kathryn Trumbull Fimreite.
CAVE, in the Russell Industrial Center, will show Melika Bass, Sarah Belknap and Joseph Belknap, Gwynne Johnson, Homa Shojaie, and Eric Wall.
The opening at CAVE runs from 6 to 9 p.m. At Public Pool the opening is 7-10 p.m.
