April 4, 7-9 p.m.

This Thursday, John S. and James L. Knight Foundation staff will be on hand to answer questions about the Knight Arts Challenge, offering a share of $3 million to arts and culture projects that engage and enrich the city. Knight’s Tatiana Hernandez will be offering tips on a range of issues from how to make an application stand out, to the challenge requirements and more.

The challenge is open to everyone — including individual artists and artist collectives, There are only three rules for the challenge: The idea must be about the arts; the project must take place in or benefit Detroit; the grant recipients must find funds to match Knight’s commitment (within a year).

Registration is not required for the event, but requested. To register, go here.

When and Where: April 4, 7 to 9 p.m., Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD), 4454 Woodward Avenue, Midtown Detroit. Parking is available in MOCAD’s parking lot on Garfield St.
