Surprising even Detroit’s harshest critics, sportswriters are speaking out as to their preference for Detroit over this year’s Super Bowl host, Miami. Three factors have been cited: attitude, logistics and expectations.

Logistically, I thought that the Detroit Super Bowl was better than
this,” ESPN analyst John Clayton said. “To give you a classic example,
I wore a coat in Miami on Sunday night, Monday night and Tuesday night.
It was so well-organized in Detroit, the first time I put on a coat was
Friday evening, after being there for six days, because I could stay
inside. The buses were well run.”
