Dear Detroit: Seasons greetings, we’ll see you in 2011
Ho-ho-ho, ’tis the season to be with family and friends, enjoying the holidays in the D. Have fun indoors and outdoors. Stay warm and cozy, wherever you are. We’ll see you right back here Jan. 11.
Model D is taking its annual holiday break to party with family and friends, visit our favorite indie neighborhood shops, re-charge our batteries, put on some hot 45s and dance our way beneath the mistletoe — and get ready for an even better year ahead in 2011.
While we won’t drop into your mailbox for the next three Tuesdays — Dec. 21, Dec. 28 and Jan. 4 — we will be posting some fun stuff on Facebook and we’ll keep you up to speed on where we might be having that holiday cheer on Twitter. If you’re not following us, now’s the perfect time to step up. C’mon, we know you want to.
We’ve already lined up some great features for Jan. 11, the date we go live once again.

More than 6000 pounds of food waste have been composted. Between the overwhelming response to the call for participants and the comments from participants and even passerby at the co-op, the project has demonstrated a distinct enthusiasm for composting among city residents.
