Strategic Staffing Solutions hits $160 million in revenue, 19th year of growth

Strategic Staffing Solutions has seen consistent growth. The downtown-based IT firm hit $160 million in revenue in 2008. That makes for its 19th consecutive year of growth. The firm also added another 200 people to its payroll last year, bringing the firm's total to 1,700.

This was accomplished through organic growth and by acquiring National Technical Systems' technical resources division. That means another six offices in four states with 150 employees came under Strategic Staffing Solutions' tent.

The company has 25 branches around the world, and one-third of those grossed more than $10 million each. The Charlotte branch and Detroit headquarters led the way, creating more than $20 million in revenue each.

Most of Strategic Staffing Solutions' business -- about half -- comes from the financial services sector. Other industries that play significant roles in the company's client base are energy, retail and distribution.

Strategic Staffing Solutions was named one of the 50 fastest-growing women-led companies in the U.S. by Entrepreneur Magazine last year. Top executives in the firm also took accolades from prominent business publications, such as Crain's Detroit Business, in 2008.
