After years of struggling to gain a foothold in the generics market, Detroit drug maker Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories, Ltd. will boost production next year at its New Center manufacturing plant in a $22 million expansion that will add nearly 600 jobs to the local economy by 2012.
