Dance Noel Night away at Model D house

Join Model D for a holiday happy hour and, yes, dance party during the 41th annual Noel Night in Midtown. We'll be doing it North Cass Corridor style at our place (which once housed Zoot's, a mid-1990s coffee joint better known for its garage rock and techno soul parties).

Come celebrate the season with the North Cass Vinyl Collective, which promises to roll out old and new records, including, we're told, the recently reissued Hastings Street Jazz Experience LP (from 1972, an exceptional time for Detroit sound clashes) and funky new dance experiments by young west side house gun Kyle Hall. Not to mention tunes by Little Carl Carlton, Syl Johnson, John Lee Hooker and SRC. The DJs -- managing editor Walter Wasacz and special projects editor Matthew Lewis -- plan on bringing steady heat to a cold night for a solid five hours.

It's happening Dec. 7, starting at 5 p.m. and going until (at least) 10 p.m. Beer provided by our neighbors at Traffic Jam. We'll also have some snacks to munch on.

Model D is at 4470 Second Ave., in Midtown. More info here.

Go here to tell us your coming. The event is free.
