Model D TV: Detroit Design Center sculpts new signage for Avenue of Fashion

The Detroit Design Center has created outdoor sculptures that now appear in Brighton (six sculptures, three of which are permanent, Midtown (one in front of the Whitney restaurant), Birmingham (one) and Beverly Hills, among other areas of the region. They also designed the "D" ball that dropped over Campus Martius during last New Years Eve.

A neighborhood retail initiative led by the Detroit Lions' Living for the City program along with local retail contest, Hatch Detroit has added the Detroit Design Center's Erik and Israel Nordin to the partnership.

The new video above, part II of our three-part series, features the Nordin brothers in their Southwest Detroit studio talking about how they are creating eye-catching new commercial signage for the Livernois commercial district known as the Avenue of Fashion. In case you missed it part I, published last week, is here.

Thanks to the Detroit Lions and Hatch Detroit for including us in the partnership, and to DETROIT LIVES! for capturing it all on video.
