UIX+ArtXDetroit: The Art of Neighborhood Innovation

Last spring we gathered in Sugar Hill Arts District to launch the Urban Innovation Exchange (UIX), a network of Detroit innovators. One year later, we return to Sugar Hill to celebrate UIX's first anniversary with an evening dedicated to creative placemaking and neighborhood innovation.

Join us this Friday, April 12, 5:30 p.m at MOCAD for a conversation with local placemakers transforming their neighborhoods through art & design. Learn how they got started, what lessons they've learned along the way, and what opportunities and resources are available for Detroit artists looking to create meaningful impact in their communities.

Panelists include:
Stay after the discussion for drink, music and a retrospective of portraits by Marvin Shaouni from year one of UIX.

The Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) is located at 4454 Woodward Avenue in Midtown Detroit. This event is free and open to the public. To register in advance, click here.

This is an official event of ArtXDetroit: Kresge Art Experience, a five-day multidisciplinary celebration throughout Midtown Detroit's cultural center, April 10-14. For the full schedule of events, go here.
