Fanatic U, a Garden City-based sports apparel and collectibles retailer, has a new location in the Compuware building downtown.
The
sports apparel store was open for 2005's Major League Baseball All-Star
Game at Comerica Park, and re-opened in May. Fanatic U had Detroit
Tiger Nate Robertson on hand to autograph for fans at their May
re-opening.
The store sells t-shirts, signed merchandise,
hats, jerseys, pennants and sports Bobble Heads. Manager Anita Hanchett
says that the Compuware location has been doing good business since
reopening, with word-of-mouth spreading through the building. Fanatic U
is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Their business hours
may expand to select weekends for upcoming home games for the Tigers,
Lions and Red Wings.
Hanchett says Fanatic U owner Greg Every
also creates his own t-shirt designs, such as a one that reads Witness:
Detroit Baseball.
