In what seemed to be a major coup by a major corporation, Whole Foods announced they would be building a new store in Detroit's Midtown neighborhood to open spring of 2013. The 21,000 square foot store broke ground in May 2012 and will stock locally-made products as well as the more upscale and organic products the chain is known for.
